About me

Welp y’all, I finally pulled the trigger and started the website! I’m a stay at home mom of some human kids, 2 cats and 1 dog- living it up with my husband of forever years, wanting to share our life with the internet to let other SAHM’s (and all you fellow foodies) know a big secret of mine…

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I’M DOING! None of us do. We are all just trying our best out here. As someone who has struggled/still struggles with anxiety, depression (good ol regular and post-partum), ADHD and OCD, [quite the personality recipe amirite?], it can feel like you’re juggling 10 balls at once all the time, 5 of them are spiky and 3 of them are slippery covered in WD-40, and you are always dropping at least 2 balls.

Cooking and baking has always helped keep the feeling of overwhelm at bay. Sure you’re thinking “Sis, that seems counterintuitive since the dishes piling up aren’t ideal”, but do you wanna know my hack for dishes? Put on a show you like and time will fly! Headphones preferred so you can drown out the kid’s fighting in the background.

Anywho. Here I will post recipes that my *very* picky family likes, but I’ll also post recipes for things they don’t like, because I deserve to eat the foods I like too! Hello Thai food.

I think cooking for your family is worth it. Even if they don’t end up liking it. Even if you don’t feel like cooking. Call me old school, but I think a meal made with love can make a big difference. Cheesy, I know  but I get that mindset from my stepmama. Food is love. We started our family relying on WIC, living in low income housing, and penny-pinching to an insane degree, so trust me when I say I GET IT. Everything is expensive. But let me show you how you can turn 1 pack of chicken breast into 3 meals. Or how to make ingredient swaps so you dont have to go to the store for 1 ingredient.

My studmuffin John and I will also review items that we actually think are worthwhile. We are big time DIY’ers and love to do home projects, so stay tuned for our other home shenanigans.

Thanks for reading this far, and I appreciate you being here!
